I bought this sander based mostly on what other reviews said. I usually buy new but took a chance on a re-conditioned sander. I'm using it to strip off old paint from the house eaves an hour at a time. There are 3 layers of paint and primer to remove. Stopping only to move the ladder, I've had this sander on for virtually an hour straight at a time. It is very light weight and does not fatigue my hands or arms. It's a bit loud but does not overheat and it works like a champ with the right sandpaper. You barely have to skim the work and the paint comes right off. I'm glad I saved some $$ over buying new. This Makita comes with the factory warranty and I doubt that I will need it. I only gave a 4 star rating because I have not had it long enough and still have a ways to go before this chore is done (lazy), but I fully expect to get 5 star service out of this little unit. I would definitely buy another if I had the need, and will look to Makita's re-conditioned tools in the future...
