I am the ultimate DIYer... starting back in the seventies when I took a raw loft in NYC and converted it to a living/workspace (photo studio and home), to restoring my 2nd vintage home (currently an 1868 colonial brick). I have done a decent amount of tile before... using manual slide cutters, nippers and rental wet saws. I am now getting ready to do one of the largest projects to date--a bathroom/laundry combo. I was looking for something to help me get the job done while moving at my own pace (i.e., not a rental). I checked out all sorts before deciding on this unit.

My first impressions were good:

1. Heavy base--won't move around.
2. Even though the top deck is sheet metal, it has stamped channels in it. It'll help shed water and is stiffer that if it were made flat.
3. Long enough cord... heavy duty.
4. Easy to find switch.
5. Removable tray... I considered the other low priced saws with self-enclosed reservoirs but couldn't picture the...
